The latest Man United transfer rumours include Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar and loanee Chris Smalling.
Manchester United have turned their attention to signing Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar, reports in Italy say.
United are being linked with various centre-backs this summer as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks to build a Champions League-standard squad for next season.
Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof have been Solskjaer’s favoured centre-back pairing this season, but the club continue to be linked with reinforcements in that area.
And now Calcio Mercato say United have their sights set on Inter defender Milan Skriniar and have offered both Alexis Sanchez and Chris Smalling in order for a deal to happen.
Sanchez has spent the season on loan at Inter, performing well in recent weeks after recovering from injury, while Smalling has impressed at Roma.
Meanwhile, other reports from Italy say Roma want to keep Smalling, but are running out of time to agree a deal that would see him remain at the club next season.
Sky Sport Italia claim United and Roma are €3m apart in their valuation, with United hoping for a €3m loan fee for next season with a €15m right to buy. Roma are said to be holding out for a €12m fee.
But the report also suggests United won’t agree an extension for Smalling to play in the Europa League this month unless a deal for next year is agreed.
The deadline for submitting the final squads for the Europa League is midnight on Monday, meaning Smalling’s future at Roma may be determined in the next two days.
